After a long and arduous wait, Desi Boyz finally hit the punchline of how the Indian born-and-raised rappers' career was going to end. The film is an anthology story about three rappers who all died in different episodes. The show's ending — that — we could only guess at, for we would not know how it happened until the movie came to a halt. Almost without exception, this movie received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike with accusations of insincerity and lack luster performances. It seems like people either love or hate this film; there is no middle ground for them in their opinion of the movie's quality and therefore its rating on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes ranges from 5. 5 to 1, and also its Metacritic rating falls into the 3-star range.Although the film's clearly not as good as Desi Boyz — which was a better film —it still has some high points and it does hold up well due to some talented performers.The movie opens with two stories. In story #1, we see Faisal Khan (played by Sunil Shetty) as a young man who aspires to be a rapper, but his father doesn't approve of his ambitions. Myra (played by Shreyas Talpade) is a writer who composes lyrics for Faisal. Myra composes a rap song about Faisal's struggles to get along with his father, and the song becomes an instant hit.As time goes by, Faisal becomes a successful rapper with Myra as his manager. But soon his father's disapproval arises again when he sees Faisal on television with mini-skirts and fake hair. So once again the question of them being together or not is raised, but this time it is not resolved, as after that scene, the story ends. Story #2 is about two friends, Chikna (played by Aftab Shivdasani) and Bhola (played by Govinda) who dream of making it big in the rap industry. They go to America with their best friend Guddu (played by Deepak Tijori), who has a lot of contacts because he lives in the U.S.Bhola and Chikna are at first disappointed when they see that there are no people at their concert, however they are soon consoled when their songs become hits on the Internet because Guddu has written songs for them, using autotune. Unfortunately, when they are in the middle of their rock-star lives, Chikna loses his wife in an accident. Since Bhola's girlfriend is pregnant with his child, he doesn't want to marry Chikna because he is so anguished over losing his wife. So Bhola goes to Guddu and convinces him to reunite them once again; Guddu tells Bhola that if he reunites them it will be the end of their dreams. So they go back to India and live like royalty, but soon after that incident things go bad for them.We then see Faisal (played by Shetty) who is living in America with Myra.
